Hector Alaniz

Biography

I am a native of the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. I graduated from San Antonio College with an Associate’s Degree in Mortuary Science. Since 1984, I have been in the service industry providing support and guidance to families during some of the most difficult times of their lives. In 2004, I moved to Laredo to begin a new career in the healthcare industry. In 2007, I started Laredo Hospice Care, where together with a dedicated team of professionals, we assisted many patients and families dealing with a terminal illness. I sold Laredo Hospice Care in 2012 to Altus Hospice of South Texas where I hold a consulting role. My wife, Sandra Mendiola Alaniz is an experienced Realtor since 2005 and received her brokers license in 2012 when we opened the RE/MAX real estate franchise in Laredo. In June 2016, I joined our RE/MAX team in Laredo as Director of Operations to assist in our rapid growth. Although recently licensed, I have over 25 years experience in business management and business ownership. RE/MAX of Laredo has become one of the fastest growing real estate office in Laredo and we have received the People’s Choice award from Laredo Morning Times in 2015 and 2016. I am a member of Laredo Gateway Rotary Club, a member of the Small Business Committee in the Laredo Chamber of Commerce, a former member and officer of the Elks Lodge in Corpus Christi and San Antonio, former member of Founder Lions Club in San Antonio, and former member of Leon Valley Chamber of Commerce. I am also an avid golfer and enjoy spending time with family and friends. My wife and I have three dogs, Winston, Sammy, and Anika and we love to support local charities.
