Carla began her real estate career in 2003, previously working in banking for close to a decade. She started at Torode Realty (Edmonton) which became Colliers Macauley Nicolls, teamed up with the president, and within 4 years continued on her own as a Senior Associate with Colliers specializing in the industrial market, throughout the Greater Edmonton region.
Carla successfully assisted in developing and selling 1,400 acres of land, industrial buildings of over quarter million square feet and focusing on tenant representation leased over $1 million square feet of industrial warehouses, jointly transacting over $175 million in commercial real estate.
Seeking a change and challenge Carla moved to CN Rail in 2014 taking on the management role of real estate and business development, completing commercial real estate deals throughout Western Canada, including the development management of 3 rail construction projects in Alberta that generated over $35 million in revenue for CN.
She returned to the industry & joined RE/MAX Commercial Capital in 2017, using her extensive 18 years of private sector experience and expanding her clientele. She owns and manages a residential property in Regina and Palm Desert, an industrial condominium in NW Edmonton and has in depth knowledge of renting farmland and gravel in Saskatchewan.
Community Involvement She founded the Edmonton CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women) - over 100 members strong - to build a network in real estate for women. She’s become a member of NAIOP, sat on the board of Victoria Business Ladies League and presently is a member of Highlands Golf Club. In the summers she loves to ride bike, garden and cooking. In the winter she loves downhill skiing, swimming, yoga and badminton. Otherwise, she spends time with her husband, Glenn, an avid car restoration guru, and their 2 kitties – Serena & Venus. They were adopted from the Edmonton Humane Society, which she loves to support every year.
