Biography
Hello and welcome to the start of your home buying journey! My name is Mikhail Carmichael and I am passionate about locating land, lakes, cabins and houses for those looking to escape to this beautiful Nevada County and surrounding area. If you are looking for your first home to start building equity, dreaming of your forever retirement sanctuary, or are investing in a bargain fixer-upper, my local specialty is at your service! Utilizing my experience in project management, technology and negotiation, I diligently work with a client-first based mentality to Prepare, Prioritize, and Perform so you can achieve your goals.
My Great-Grandfather and Grandfather, through a series of unique events, ended up in Nevada County after a multi-year journey escaping German-Occupied France during World War 2. Here, my father met my mother while sharing a living space in downtown Nevada City. They bought a house on the corner of E. Main and Eureka in Grass Valley, and lived there for only two years before they left, chasing job opportunities. I was born in Tucson, AZ, but before I turned 3 we were gone again.
I grew up all over the place, living in the Philippines, Florida, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Massachusetts, but we always owned our house on Main St and visited frequently. I fell in love with Nevada County through these visits, and went to school here briefly at Lyman Gilmore Middle School and Nevada Union High School. The adventure and beauty of the Yuba River, the warm faces around town, the unique diversity within a small California town, community events, and proximity to both snow and ocean made this place a dream for me.
What do I do when not helping wonderful people buy and sell their homes? Family and Community! I have two kids, a boy and a girl, and I share all my extra time with them. I coach competitive travel soccer for Gold Country United and work intimately with the board to broaden services provided for youth development.
