A home purchase is often the most important investment a person makes. Not only has real estate proven to be a valuable investment vehicle and financial asset for many, it is also an important emotional anchor point for families.
Warren Buffett famously said that his third best investment was his home (his first two were wedding rings). Although the Wizard of Omaha certainly has made more off of his stake at Berkshire Hathaway than he has in real estate, it is an important reminder that a home purchase helps create stability and emotional well being that cannot be found in any other investment.
