Raised in the close-knit community of rural Waldo County, I spent my youth in the picturesque town of Unity, Maine, surrounded by a supportive network of family, friends, and dependable neighbors. Guided by parents who instilled values of generosity and compassion, I learned the importance of community and giving back from an early age.
My academic achievements include graduating with High Honors from Mount View High School a year ahead of schedule. Eager to make a meaningful impact, I enrolled in Cosmetology School immediately thereafter. However, recognizing that my true calling lay elsewhere, I serendipitously discovered a wonderful opportunity. I dedicated myself to working with individuals with intellectual disabilities locally, fostering connections that brought unparalleled fulfillment to my daily life. Impacting the lives of others was the brightest part of my day.
For the past eight years, I have built a life with my husband in the coastal City of Belfast. Engaged in our community through his family business, Alexia’s Pizza, we actively contribute to the vibrant life of Belfast, participating in various community events and supporting our children's educational and athletic pursuits.
