Darryl is a Chicago native and a seasoned realtor with over 15 years of experience who has been recognized as a consistent “Top Producer” by the Chicago Association of Realtors since 2014.
Before entering real estate, Darryl earned his B.A. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and upon graduating, he joined The Northern Trust Company as an Accountant for several years while earning his real estate license in 2006.
In February 2008, during the great recession, he became a full-time real estate professional when he joined the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA) as a loan officer. At NACA, he also helped fight economic injustice by leading educational homebuyer workshops and assisting thousands of homeowners in danger of losing their family’s home due to predatory lending.
Darryl went on to lead demonstrations locally and on Capitol Hill where he lobbied congressmen, senators, and governmental agencies to reform systemic predatory lending practices. He later transitioned to NACA’s real estate department, where he eventually became the Managing Broker of the Chicago office. Over the years, Darryl Toney has developed strong leadership skills and discovered his fierce passion for community activism and civic duty.
